Five Americans were arrested in Harare, Zimbabwe on Thursday afternoon. Of the 5 people arrested 2 were doctors, 2 were nurses and 1 was an organizer. The charges they face and failure to provide a licenses to distribute the HIV Medication. While they are certified doctors and nurses in the USA, they don't have the proper licenses to distribute the drugs even if it's good for their patients.
They were supposed to appear in court today, but the Zimbabwe police haven't finished all the paperwork for the case. Their court date has been moved to Monday morning. The group of Americans are apart of a large group of workers who've been helping the Zimbabwe people children since 2000. Their lawyer Jonathon Samukange said "they did have the necessary licenses". He expects things to go smoothly on Monday.
