Ever since the Segway was introduced in 2001 people have questioned their safety. Jimi Heselden has spent the past decade trying to convince people that the Segway is not only safe, but it's a great way to get around.
On Sunday Jimi Heselden's body was found in a river on the bottom of a 30ft cliff. Know one knows what exactly happened, but police have stated that there was no foul play.
A recent study conducted by emergency room doctors shows that Segway related injuries are becoming a growing concern. They said every year more and more patients come into the ER with severe injuries.
So are Segways really safe or are people misusing them? We may never find out what caused Jimi Heselden's Segway to send him over the cliff, but one thing is certain The number of Segway related deaths and injuries are increasing year after year.
