After months of sub-par golfing the number 1 golfer in the world has officially been selected for the Ryder Cup.
He will join 11 other teammates next month to try and defend the USA's title. Although he did not qualify as one of the top eight automatic picks, U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin announced the expected decision to include Woods on the team. The eight Americans who automatically qualified for the Ryder Cup team on points after last month's PGA Championship are Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson and Jeff Overton.
While some people believe that Tiger Woods is a great pick, others are not so happy. Some people feel that it's a political move to try and raise advertising money. Like him or not Tiger Woods brings in more advertising money then anyone else in golf. No one knows why Tiger Woods was selected, but he was thrilled to be picked as the wild card.
